"Mental Wellness for Everyone"
We all have mental health
“In this world, we will have trouble. But take heart!”
We cannot deny the struggles of this world and the challenges within our daily lives. We are witnessing a time filled with trauma, pain, life-changing diagnoses, financial burdens, and stress in all shapes and forms. There is daily strain on everyone’s mental health. We are left wondering, “how do we get better, how do we stay well?” Here are four tips to consider adding into your wellness routine.
Be still: seek peace and rest
Connect with others: friends, family, coworkers, professionals
Captive thoughts: increase awareness of negative thoughts and move towards positive thinking
Gratitude: be thankful in all things, practice a daily gratitude routine
Consider where you currently land on the mental health continuum. Reflect on what can be added or removed from your daily routine in order to be mentally well. This model helps to identify any changes in your mental functioning based on six different areas: mood, attitude, sleep, physical health, social well-being, and substance use. It is important to remember that wherever you find yourself along this continuum; you matter and are worthy of receiving care and support.
How are you doing?
